2018 World Oceans Week in Argentina

Biology students from different universities, whose work was selected by a jury, presented their proposals to help reduce plastic pollution in rivers, lakes, and seas. The closing of the sessions took place at the Club de Pescadores in Buenos Aires, where its president, CPN Ángel Colombo, welcomed important delegations from the plastics industry, research institutes, universities, and the press. The Universidad de Belgrano was represented by its executive director, Lic. Ana Linares Quintana. Dr. Cornelia Nauen, president of Mundus maris, sent her greetings from Brussels, while Dr. Marcelo Morales Yokobori, a professor and researcher at our institution, provided a summary of the previous Monday’s session and introduced the students from the Universidad del Comahue, the University of Buenos Aires, and our own university, who shared their initiatives. It was a memorable afternoon, which will serve as a starting point to continue growing the enormous task of protecting the oceans, and ultimately, ourselves. Our thanks to the Club de Pescadores and Mundus maris.
